Career Pathways
The highly experienced careers team at Cornerstone College is dedicated to assisting students in making informed decisions about life beyond school.
A wide range of career resources are available, including formal sessions to explain university and TAFE admission processes.
The team regularly hosts free careers’ workshops for parents, which are specifically designed to help parents and caregivers support their children with career decisions.
Each year, The Adelaide Hills Careers Expo is held at the College. Representatives from a wide range of industries and sectors, including, university and TAFE, construction, hair and beauty, engineering, mining, surveying, defence forces, fitness industries, and police and ambulance services are on hand to answer career and tertiary education questions that students and families may have.
Career pathways are an important, individual decision and we encourage students and their parent/caregivers to make use of the services, and, when the time is right, meet with one of the College’s careers team members.
Our dedicated Pathways Team work with students and families to break down the required steps and provide the most up-to-date advice and guidance.
We support students by:
- Providing 1-1 counselling, to assist students in identifying their interests and natural abilities, and the available pathway options that may suit them.
- Providing a wide range of pathways-related resources, including workshops for both students and parents/caregivers.
- Outline the desired subject selection for those looking to pursue tertiary studies such as University and TAFE, and explain the entry process
- Engaging with local industry, to assist students with securing work experience placements, developing networks and finding employment, including apprenticeships.
- We provide information on Gap Years and support in applying for scholarships.
Whatever career pathway your child chooses, we are here to guide them throughout this process and offer support.
